Energy Drive | December 2011 - March 2013

Blind Horizon Studios

Energy Drive started out as Us Saving Billions, which was a short prototype game created in 48 hours for the ImagineCup competition in December 2011. The game was originally made in C# with XNA as a 2-Dimensional game, and is now a 3-Dimensional game developed in Unity. Energy Drive is a resource management game that tackles the serious implications of the battle for balance between clean energy and polluted air. The current game was made, as stated, with Unity and JavaScript, with models developed in Autodesk Maya, and 2D art and textures created in Adobe Photoshop. Energy Drive has won two awards: Most Creative - ImagineCup 2011 (as U.S.B.); Best Serious Game - MassDigi Game Challenge 2012 (as U.S.B.).

My Role

I was the only 2D artist for this game. I was also an integral part of the game design process. The only asset I didn't personally produce is the main game element: the field and its energy structures.

I, with my team, met twice weekly to work on Energy Drive during the school year. We had stand-ups on Tuesdays to discuss our progress, and had six-hour work days on Fridays to finish the game.
